The Charvel PM San Dimas Bass PJ IV offers the best of both worlds with its sleek, familiar body shape straight from the original 1970s Charvel San Dimas basses and thoroughly modern features that make it a remarkably flexible bass. This 4-string electric bass has the iconic alder body with deep cutaways for effortless access to the upper frets. The super-thin bolt-on maple Charvel speed neck has a gorgeous caramelized maple fingerboard that gradually flattens from nut to heel, allowing fast, smooth playing across all 20 jumbo frets. And like the original San Dimas basses, the Bass PJ IV is powered by DiMarzio's P and J pickups, providing a versatile range of punchy, growling or fat tones.

Iconic San Dimas Body Style Provides Comfort and Playability

The contoured alder body of the PM SD PJ IV bass echoes the sleek silhouette of the original 1970s Charvel San Dimas basses. Its comfortably rounded edges and deep cutaway put the fast caramelized maple neck and 20-fret fingerboard easily within reach. The thin C-shaped profile and 12"-16" compound radius feel smooth and inviting to play. This lets you fly up and down the neck with speed and accuracy. The ergonomic body shape also makes the bass feel balanced whether you're seated or standing on stage. With its iconic body and fast modern neck, the PM SD PJ IV is built for performance.

Shape Your Sound With DiMarzio Pickups

This bass comes loaded with a punchy DiMarzio Model J at the bridge and a warm, growly Model P in the middle position, giving you the best of both worlds for shaping your ideal bass tone. The Model J delivers articulate low end and clear mids, while the Model P provides fat, rounded tone with a gnarly mid-range when you dig in. Blend the two pickups to craft your signature sound.

Dial In Your Tone With Active 3-Band EQ

An active 3-band EQ gives you extensive tone-sculpting control over the Charvel's voice. Boost lows for a thunderous foundation, add mids for a cutting punch and boost highs for clarity and definition. The push/pull volume knob provides the option of passive operation for a more vintage tone. This bass can handle any gig with its adaptable electronics.

Fast Playing Feel With Caramelized Maple Neck

The caramelized maple neck has a thin, fast profile suited for performance. Its caramelized maple fingerboard has a 12"-16" compound radius that gets progressively flatter from the nut to the heel, making it easy to play quick riffs up and down the neck. The smooth feel is enhanced by rolled fingerboard edges and 20 comfortably spaced jumbo frets with Luminlay side dots for clear visibility.

Iconic Style and Modern Upgrades

While the Bass PJ IV looks stunning in classic White Pearl, Lime Green Metallic and Mystic Blue finishes, it packs contemporary appointments like the Graph Tech nut and Charvel HiMass bridge for rock-solid tuning stability. Sealed die-cast tuners help keep this bass in tune through countless gigs. Order the Charvel PM San Dimas Bass PJ IV and get that punchy classic bass tone with smooth playability.
