The Squier Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass V celebrates the deep-pocketed tone and eye-catching style of vintage 5-string Jazz Basses with a modern performance twist. Inspired by the low-end legends of the funk era, this Classic Vibe model expands the tonal range with an added low B string and an active 9V preamp for bold, sculptable sound. The combination of Fender-designed noiseless pickups and flexible tone controls offers everything from tight punch to smooth, blooming lows—without the 60-cycle hum. Finished in a stunning Ocean Turquoise gloss polyurethane and boasting a robust HiMass bridge for enhanced resonance, this 5-string machine blends throwback swagger with contemporary functionality. It's built for today's bassists who want vintage flair without sacrificing versatility or clarity.

Classic Jazz Bass Body With 5-String Power

Crafted from poplar and finished in a durable gloss polyurethane, the Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass V features the iconic offset body shape that's made Jazz Basses a player favorite for decades. Its extended-range design adds a low B string without compromising balance or comfort, making it ideal for modern grooves and genre-crossing versatility. The lightweight body construction keeps things comfortable during long sessions, while the contoured shape fits naturally whether you're seated or standing. The retro-chic Ocean Turquoise finish creates a standout visual that gives this instrument an elegant vintage vibe. With both style and sonic substance, this Jazz Bass V is ready for anything from studio work to stage gigs.

Smooth Maple Neck With Vintage Feel

The maple neck on the Classic Vibe Jazz Bass V is finished in a tinted gloss urethane, giving it a broken-in, vintage-style feel right out of the box. Its comfortable profile and 34" scale length offer smooth, familiar playability across all five strings, making it easy to transition between rhythm and lead work. The maple fingerboard contributes to the bass's bright, articulate tone and provides a sleek playing surface that enhances clarity and speed. Narrow tall frets improve control for clean runs and precise bends, while the 1.875" nut provides ample space for articulate fret work. From classic funk grooves to modern fusion, this neck delivers timeless comfort with contemporary playability.

Flexible Fender Electronics With Active/Passive Switching

Loaded with Fender-designed alnico noiseless pickups in both the bridge and neck positions, the Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass V offers full-spectrum tone without unwanted hum. The onboard 9V preamp provides active control over volume, pickup blend, tone and bass/treble boost, letting you shape your sound with surgical precision. A two-way mini toggle switch allows instant switching between active and passive modes—ideal for players who need different tonal textures on the fly. Whether you want punchy slap tones, warm fingerstyle or bright articulation, this setup covers the full tonal range with ease and clarity. It's modern electronics made simple and stage-ready.

Rock-Solid Hardware With HiMass Bridge

The Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass V features a HiMass bridge that enhances resonance and sustain, giving each note definition and authority—especially on the low B string. Its solid construction keeps your intonation dialed in even under aggressive playing. Nickel-plated vintage-style tuning machines provide reliable tuning stability with a timeless aesthetic, and a bone nut adds tonal clarity and long-term durability. Vintage-inspired nickel hardware rounds out the timeless look, offering a clean visual to match its powerful performance.
