The MEINL Byzance Foundry Reserve Flat Ride brings together the crisp articulation flat rides are known for with the rich, nuanced tonality of the Foundry Reserve series. Designed for drummers who need versatility to handle both intricate rhythmic work and robust accents, this hand-hammered B20 bronze beauty will become a centerpiece of your kit.
With Extensive Hand-Hammering That Creates Unique Visual Appeal and Rich, Complex Tones
Taking the Foundry Reserve series to new heights, MEINL's master cymbalsmiths have lavished the Byzance Foundry Reserve Flat Ride with extra hand-hammering. The one-of-a-kind markings give it stunning visual appeal. More importantly, all that hand-hammering creates a complex sonic palette under the clear stick attack. The extensive hammering produces deep craters across the shimmering bronze surface. You'll hear and feel the difference, with waves of low undertones MEINL aptly describes as "the roar."
With a Fully Lathed Top and Bottom That Produces Clear, Articulate Stick Attack
MEINL complements all that rich hammering with lathe work on the top and bottom. This gives you the crisp, articulate note projection flat rides are prized for. Every stick hit comes through clearly to cut through the mix. The B20 bronze material adds to the cutting tone, keeping your accents present even when the band is at full tilt.
A Medium-Thin Weight That Offers Versatility for Blending and Shading
With a medium-thin profile, the Byzance Foundry Reserve Flat Ride provides drummers with exceptional flexibility. The size gives it full-bodied roar underneath. Yet it's responsive enough to pull back for delicate rhythmic interplay and shading. You'll find it works great in a wide variety of musical contexts thanks to its ability to blend articulation, projection and complex overtones.
With Extensive Hand-Hammering That Builds in Robust Character
Traditional flat rides can sometimes sound one-dimensional. But the extensive hand-hammering adds such unique character to every Byzance Foundry Reserve Flat Ride. No two are alike and each cymbal has a richness you can feel. The B20 bronze and hand-hammering work together to deliver sustain for days. Whether you're looking to driving a tune or embellish it with deft accents, this flat ride has the sonic depth drummers crave.
