The Meinl Byzance Studio Select cymbal set, a collection of professional, handmade Turkish cymbals suitable for any genre or playing style. Equally at home on stage or in the studio, these cymbals were carefully curated to provide drummers with maximum tonal variety in one visually stunning package. The 15" Dual hi-hats and free 18" Dual crash, two of Meinl's most popular Byzance models, deliver a blend of crisp articulation and trashy wash that many drummers covet. Anchoring the set is the versatile 21" Byzance Polyphonic ride, which features a raw bell for dryness contrasting its shimmering body. Thin enough to serve as a third crash, this ride responds dynamically at any volume. The 20" Extra Thin Hammered crash provides a cascading warmth and long sustain, perfectly complementing the set.
Dual Hi-Hats and Crash Provide Versatile Sounds
The 15" Dual hi-hats offer tight, articulate tones when closed and an open, splashy sound when fully open. The free 18" Dual crash provides a trashy wash with quick decay, ideal for accenting grooves or creating buildups. Together, these popular Meinl models provide an array of tones in just two cymbals.
Polyphonic Ride Anchors the Set
The 21" Byzance Polyphonic ride features a raw, unlathed bell for crisp definition contrasting its shimmering, hammered body. Thin and responsive, this versatile ride works as a crash, ride, or both. Its complex tones cut through at high volumes yet remain musical when played softly.
Extra Thin Hammered Crash Provides Warmth
The 20" Extra Thin Hammered crash delivers a lush, rolling sustain with a gradual decay. Its extensive hammering provides warmth and depth, while a light weight allows it to open fully without an aggressive attack. This handcrafted Turkish cymbal complements the trashier sounds in the set with a touch of warmth.
