The MEINL Classics Custom Dark cymbal set gives you a versatile range of tones to inspire your creativity. These cymbals produce cutting, complex sounds with a musical warmth that rises above amplified instruments. The set includes 14" hi-hats, an 18" crash and a 20" ride—you also get a free 16" trash crash and Ching Ring effect cymbal.
Hi-Hats Provide a Crisp Chick and Earthy Slosh
The 14" hi-hat cymbals in this set have a bright attack with a smooth, sloshy sustain that decays naturally. Their dark finish enhances the warmth and complexity in the tone. The hi-hats cut through when closed tight, but open up when loosened to produce a variety of sounds from tight "chicks" to sloshy "sloshes." Play them with your foot or by hand—these versatile hi-hats can handle any style.
Dark Crash Cymbal Responds Immediately With a Musical Punch
The 18" dark crash cymbal in this set reacts instantly when struck, delivering a musical punch with a warm, resonant tone. Its medium-thin weight provides an ideal balance of cut, fullness and sustain. The dark finish further enhances the cymbal's warmth and musicality. This highly responsive yet controllable crash works equally well as an opener, in fills or as an accent—giving you a versatile, go-to crash for any musical situation.
Ride Cymbal Cuts Through With Clear Ping and Rich Bell
The 20" ride cymbal produces a classic ping with warm undertones and a clear, cutting bell. Although designed for louder genres, this ride's tone remains highly musical. It cuts through amplified guitars yet still provides nuance and warmth. The bell is prominent without being overpowering, giving you a defined "ping" with a full, resonant quality. Use the ride to keep time or move into the edge and bell for accents and melodic riding.
Free Cymbals Expand Your Sound Palette
This set includes a brilliant 16" trash crash and Ching Ring effect cymbal for no additional cost. The trash crash adds a wild, chaotic effect or stacks with other cymbals for new sounds. Place the Ching Ring on any cymbal to produce a metallic, sizzling effect that cuts through the mix. With these free additions, you can create unique custom cymbal stacks and explore new sonic territories.
