TAMA's Starclassic Performer 5-piece shell pack combines the warmth of birch with the focus of maple for a sound that's as complex as it is powerful. This innovative hybrid shell pack is designed to redefine the modern drum set. The Performer series evolves TAMA's acclaimed Starclassic legacy, providing an unparalleled sonic experience for drummers of all levels.
Maple/Birch Hybrid Shell
At the heart of the Starclassic Performer lies its hybrid maple/birch shell. Maple provides an articulate attack and pronounced midrange, while birch contributes a round, balanced tone with enhanced low end. Together, these tonewoods yield a sound that's both dynamically responsive and harmonically rich. The shell's 6-ply, 7.5 mm thickness optimizes resonance for recordings and live performances alike.
Die-Cast Hoops
The Starclassic Performer's die-cast hoops deliver powerfully focused rimshots and cross-sticking. Their heavyweight construction also helps dampen unwanted overtones for a controlled, punchy tone. Securely fitted to the maple/birch shell, these hoops provide a stable foundation for the entire drum set.
Star-Cast Mounting System
TAMA's proprietary Star-Cast mounting system attaches each drum to the bass drum with a level of stability and flexibility that's second to none. Rubber inserts minimize shell contact, reducing potential damping. Independent tom mounts also allow for a wide range of positioning options so you can customize your setup to suit any musical situation.
EVANS G1 Coated Heads
The Performer series comes equipped with EVANS G1 coated heads, which provide an open, resonant tone with solid projection. Their single-ply, 10-mil film construction delivers an ideal balance of warmth, focus and durability. Coated heads also have a slightly dampened attack for a broader dynamic range.
22" Bass Drum and 5-Piece Shell Pack
A 22" bass drum forms the foundation of this comprehensive 5-piece shell pack. Small toms measure 10x8" and 12x9", while the floor tom is 16x16". Together with a 14x5.5" snare, these drums provide a versatile palette for crafting any drum sound you can imagine. The TAMA Starclassic Performer delivers pro-level performance at an unbeatable value.
