The Taylor 814ce-N is a premium guitar combining Taylor's signature playability and tone with a revolutionary pickup system for amplified performance. The sleek mahogany Grand Auditorium body resonates with rich, complex harmonics while the ES-N pickup captures the guitar's acoustic voice with stunning depth and clarity. The 814ce-N is perfect for nylon-string players looking to expand their sonic palette.
Redesigned Bracing and Wood Thicknesses for Optimal Tone
Master guitar designer Andy Powers customized the bracing and wood thicknesses of the 814ce-N for enhanced musicality. The redesigned bracing brings out a warm, mature midrange and loose, luxurious low end from the solid Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. A 4.5 mil finish provides protection without dampening resonance. These refinements yield an acoustic voice with exceptional richness, depth, and sustain.
ES-N Pickup for Natural Amplified Sound
At the heart of the 814ce-N is Taylor's ES-N pickup, which features three strategically placed pickup sensors to capture nuances in your playing. The sensors enable a dynamic range of acoustic sound in amplified performance. Combined with Taylor's custom preamp, the ES-N faithfully conveys the 814ce-N's tone whether on stage, recording, or jamming with friends. Volume, bass, and treble controls provide tonal shaping to suit any musical situation.
Familiar Feel for Crossover Appeal
While the 814ce-N produces the rich, complex voice of a traditional nylon-string guitar, its sleek mahogany neck and 1 7/8" nut width have a familiar feel for steel-string players. The slight radius and slender profile facilitate smooth playability across the ebony fretboard. This combination of premium tonewoods and comfortable design gives the 814ce-N exceptionally versatile musicality.
Premium Appointments and Portability
As part of the 800 Series, the 814ce-N features premium appointments like an abalone rosette and maple binding. Overall, the Taylor 814ce-N Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric nylon-string guitar delivers a premium playing experience for nylon-string guitarists ready to take their music to new creative heights.
