The Gibson Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard electric guitar is a meticulous recreation of Peter Green's iconic 1959 Les Paul. This legendary guitar has passed through the hands of three famous players—Peter Green, Gary Moore and Kirk Hammett—and now its unmistakable tone is available to guitarists around the world. The "Greeny" Les Paul Standard flaunts premium specs true to the original, including a solid mahogany body, AAA flame maple top, chunky late-'50s mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. However, what truly sets this model apart are the custom Greenybucker pickups, with the neck pickup featuring a reversed magnetic polarity to reproduce the distinctive out-of-phase sound that has defined decades of music.

Greenybucker Pickups Provide Legendary Tone

The Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard is built to meticulously recreate Peter Green's 1959 Les Paul in both looks and sound. To achieve the latter, Gibson developed custom Greenybucker pickups based on the original PAF humbuckers in Greeny. The neck pickup has a reversed magnetic polarity, producing the out-of-phase tone that gave Fleetwood Mac classics like "The Green Manalishi" and "Black Magic Woman" their haunting quality. When the pickups are combined in the middle switch position, the result is a magical, bell-like chime perfect for emotive lead playing. The Greenybucker pickups make the "Greeny" Les Paul Standard a must-have for any guitarist chasing legendary tone.

Premium Specs Channel Vintage Les Paul Magic

Beyond its distinctive pickups, the Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard features premium specs channeling the mojo of 1950s Les Pauls. Its solid mahogany body and hand-selected AAA flame maple top provide depth and clarity, while the chunky late '50s mahogany neck gives a comfortable playing feel. The Indian rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays are classic touches and a pair of zebra-coil humbucking pickups power the guitar—except for the neck pickup, which has an opposite magnetic polarity for that magical out-of-phase tone. With a combination of premium tonewoods and custom electronics, the "Greeny" Les Paul Standard is a blues-rock machine.

Built to Honor an Iconic Instrument

The Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard is not just another Les Paul—it is a meticulous recreation of Peter Green's legendary 1959 Les Paul, from the worn cherry sunburst finish to the dents and dings acquired over decades of musical history. Gibson went to painstaking efforts to recreate every detail of this iconic guitar, right down to the reverse-wound neck pickup that gives it such a distinctive voice. As a result, the "Greeny" Les Paul Standard electric guitar is a must-have for any guitarist chasing a piece of music history.
