The Mapex Comet drum kit provides an ideal starter drum set for aspiring musicians. With a 20" bass drum, three toms, a 14" snare and quality cymbals, the Comet gives you a versatile five-piece kit to explore a variety of styles. Thoughtfully designed for beginners, the Comet includes sturdy hardware and throne so you can start playing right out of the box.
SONIClear Bearing Edges Focus Your Tone
Mapex's SONIClear bearing edges provide clean contact between the drum shells and heads, resulting in articulate attack, balanced resonance and focused tonality across the kit. The precision-cut inner rims allow the drums to speak clearly and openly, giving you an accurate sense of how your technique impacts the sound. SONIClear bearing edges are an ideal feature for developing drummers.
Three Toms Offer Tonal Range
With 10" and 12" rack toms, and a 14" floor tom, the Comet provides a versatile tom setup for exploring fills and grooves. The three toms give you a wide range of pitched sounds to incorporate into your playing. As your skills improve, the tom configuration will allow you to experiment with alternative setups to find what's right for your style.
Complete Hardware for Quick Setup
The Comet comes with heavy-duty hardware so you can have the kit assembled and ready to play out of the box. It includes a sturdy kick drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, cymbal stand and padded throne. The stands provide stability and adjustability, allowing you to position the drums and cymbals for comfortable playing. Quality hardware gives you peace of mind that your investment is built to last through years of practice and performance.
Essential Cymbals to Start With
To get you playing right away, Mapex includes a set of 14" hi-hats and a 16" crash/ride cymbal with the Comet drum kit. While not professional cymbals, they offer an introduction to basic cymbal sounds. The hi-hats provide crisp punctuation to your grooves. The crash/ride gives you a first taste of how cymbals can accent your fills and solos. These starter cymbals are ideal for new drummers and allow room to upgrade as your skills advance.
