The Fireface UFX III is the centerpiece of any high-end studio setup, delivering up to 94 channels of I/O with seamless USB 3 performance. It’s built around new analog and digital boards featuring upgraded AD/DA converters, improved THD+N specs and fully DC-coupled analog outputs. This ultraflexible interface is perfect for demanding multitrack recording, mixing and monitoring applications.

Comprehensive I/O With MADI and Multi-Format Support

On the front panel, you’ll find four XLR/TRS combo inputs for mic, line and instrument signals, two stereo headphone outs, MIDI I/O and a USB port for DURec standalone recording. Around back, the UFX III offers eight balanced line outs, ADAT and AES/EBU I/Os, coaxial and optical MADI, plus word clock connectors that can double as coaxial MADI. With split-mode MADI and Multi-Mode ADAT/SPDIF, this interface adapts to every workflow.

TotalMix FX and Remote Software Control

The UFX III includes RME’s powerful TotalMix FX DSP mixer, allowing for complex routing, latency-free monitoring and real-time mixing. DIGICheck provides advanced digital analysis, and TotalMix Remote enables full wireless control via iPad, Mac or PC—ideal for both live and studio environments. With independent submixes and full snapshot recall, it’s a studio console in a half-rack format.

DC-Coupled Outputs and Class Compliant USB 3

All analog line outputs are DC-coupled, perfect for sending CV and Gate signals to modular synth systems like Eurorack or Moog formats. The Fireface UFX III also supports Class Compliant USB 3 mode, making it plug-and-play with Mac, Windows and Linux—no proprietary drivers required for basic operation.
